Blackthorn can design and supply silencers for all sizes of engine, with batch sizes ranging from 1 to 1000 pieces. Single parts, prototypes and small batches are made in the UK for fast turnaround, whereas larger batches are usually made in less expensive locations. For customers operating a ‘just-in-time’ system we are usually happy to carry stock with the result that economies of scale can be realised. Another advantage of this approach is that buffer stocks are available in case of unanticipated requirements, but these do not need to be included on our customers’ balance sheets.
