Design
The importance of good design as an aspect of quality cannot be overstated, as even the best manufacturing process will not compensate for a badly designed or incorrectly specified product. Designing a high quality exhaust system requires an appreciation of many factors including emissions, noise, and vibration. In addition, durability is paramount and this requires an understanding of corrosion, metal fatigue and the effect of ageing on the emission control components as well as a thorough understanding of the working environment that the exhaust will be used in. Success in exhaust design also requires keeping up to date with new analysis and simulation techniques as well as new products and technologies as they become available.
Blackthorn has been designing and supplying exhaust systems for demanding applications for over 13 years now and we believe that there really is no substitute for experience. However there is always more to learn and we actively seek out expertise as well as visiting numerous trade shows and conferences around the World to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of our field.
