We can supply insulation jackets to cover any exhaust section. The effectiveness of this type of product is determined by the type and thickness of insulating material used. As an example of what can be achieved, consider an exhaust tube with a surface temperature of 500 Centigrade (932 Fahrenheit). If a jacket incorporating 10mm thick 'microporous' material is fitted, the temperature on the outside of this jacket will be reduced to about 130 Centigrade (266 Fahrenheit). Since insulation materials should normally be kept dry, the outer layer of the jacket is made from either waterproof fabric or very thin sheet metal, nevertheless this type of product is not ideal for very wet conditions.
